ETI and Daman Consulting Combine
Forces to Support Microsoft SQL Server
New Data
System Library Permits Integration of Legacy Data with SQL Server
Austin, TX,
July 14, 1999— Evolutionary Technologies International, Inc. (ETI), a leading supplier of enterprise data integration management solutions, and Daman Consulting, a leading provider of enterprise application integration and data warehousing solutions, today introduced an ETI Solution® Data System Library? (DSL) to support the extraction, cleansing, transformation, movement and load of data to and from the Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) SQL Server database.
The DSL for C/Microsoft SQL Server provides a scalable, flexible, high-performance solution for large to mid-size
companies planning to migrate data to SQL Server from relational and non-relational databases, including legacy
systems such as IMS, VSAM and IDMS. The software utilizes ETI's fourth generation DSL Architecture, developed in
1998, to integrate Microsoft SQL Server into ETI's customers' enterprise IT infrastructures.
"The new DSL product from ETI represents a step forward in users' ability to move data between legacy systems
and Microsoft SQL Server," said Steve Murchie, Group Product Manager at Microsoft Corp. "Daman Consulting
and ETI have played an important role in positioning Microsoft SQL Server as the database of choice for both large
and mid-range corporate IT organizations."
DSLs enable ETI Solution to generate native code for individual databases, meeting the critical industry need for the exchange of information between incompatible databases and applications ? from legacy systems of twenty to thirty years ago to Microsoft SQL Server.
"As corporate IT organizations seek to utilize Microsoft's SQL Server as part of their IT infrastructure, the new ETI Solution DSL provides a powerful data integration solution," said Kay Hammer, president and CEO of ETI. "Our partnership with Daman Consulting allows our Microsoft SQL Server customers to harness the power and flexibility of ETI Solution to consolidate data across the enterprise."
"The development of this ETI Solution DSL marks an important milestone in our growing, strategic partnerships with Microsoft and ETI," said Gita Lal, president and co-founder of Daman Consulting. "We look forward to using ETI Solution and the ETI Solution DSL to help develop world-class Microsoft SQL Server solutions in both our enterprise application integration and data warehousing practices."
Daman Consulting partnered with ETI to add Microsoft SQL Server to the extensive list of data sources and targets supported by ETI Solution. Daman Consulting and ETI have worked together at customer sites throughout North America and Europe over the last several years; Daman is ETI's first Third Party Development partner for new DSLs.
The DSL for C/Microsoft SQL Server is one of the first four DSLs developed with ETI's new DSL Architecture and the first under their Third Party Development (3PD) Program. This architecture ensures that all DSLs share the same rich functionality as well as the same structure and naming conventions. Because of the architecture's modularity, new DSLs can be developed faster and more efficiently than ever before. ETI's 3PD Program, announced in October, 1998, is designed to encourage companies such as Daman to help ETI broaden the list of databases that can be accessed natively by ETI Solution.

ETI Solution was developed to help companies effectively manage the data integration required in today's rapidly changing environment.
