companies make their home in the "Silicon Hills" of Austin. That's a lot of opportunity for the technically
savvy. And a lot of excitement that comes from being where the action is.<BR>

What makes Austin really special is much harder to quantify. It's an attitude. Imagine a city that takes pride
in being home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. That's right, bats. We even named the local hockey
team after them. A city where thousands sent get well cards to a tree. Where the fate of a favorite swimming hole
is the hottest political issue. The natural environment of Austin is unique and Austinites have learned to treasure
it.<BR>

We also treasure the local music. Austin calls itself the live music capital of the World, and works hard to live
up to the name. You will find music everywhere, and in every genre. Austin has the highest per capita number of
restaurants and bars in the nation, and in most of them, you'll find a band. You'll see bands playing at every
local festival, in the parks, even in the grocery store. On a summer evening you can hear blues or jazz outdoors
for free, in a relaxed, smoke-free environment suitable for the whole family.<BR>

We have nightlife, outdoor recreation, restaurants, theaters, music ñ in short, all that you could want
in a city. But what really makes Austin a great place to live is the people, a diverse population of computer geeks,
musicians, and entrepreneurs. What all these people have in common is a deep appreciation for Austin. It's a laid
back place where people don't stand for pretense. You can wear jeans to work and even to the opera. It's an energetic
place full of software start-ups, but where people still know the value of a day spent swimming and sunbathing
at Barton Springs.</FONT><FONT SIZE="2" FACE="Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><BR>
